Just Married!

I owe you an apology. I’ve all but disappeared from the planet, and only to suddenly resurface with this news: I’m married! On June 16th, Mike and I hitched the horse with the pony. While I tried with all of my might to juggle the wedding planning, the prenuptial party, four jobs (one of them new), and a sprouting business, I just couldn’t do it all and stay sane. In fact, I did catch a mighty nasty bug just a week before the Big Day. So, as you can imagine, the weeks leading up to our nuptials mopped up every bit of energy Mike and I had left. I think it’s fair to say that I was stretched thinner than an ultra thin sheepskin condom. (Totally inappropriate metaphor, but I like it.)

I flew to Nevada about 5 days early to set up for the prenuptial party on Friday (held June 15th in Gold Hill at Maynard’s Station). Mike drove some extra large pots, lent to us by Ben, so that we could cook for our friends attending our party. We had canvases for painting, toys for kids, and lots of food. The recipes will follow this blog. You can check out our official website at www.michaelandfrances.com.

The following day, June 16th, was our wedding at Lake Tahoe, followed by a cruise on the MS Dixie. We only invited our closest family members to attend this event.

These beautiful videos would not have been possible without the generous talents contributed by Andrew Maiorana, and without the support of his lovely partner, Jennifer.

Also, a disclaimer: I realize that I am not equally representing everyone here. Many of the photos have not yet been processed by us. I plan to add more photos of our lovely family members as I complete the processing! (Thanks for your understanding.)

Red Pill or Blue Pill? My brother Paul delivered a thoughtful Wendell Berry poem.

My mom and dad both walked me down the sandy aisle to give me away.

The MS Dixie in Lake Tahoe hosted our reception.

The Tahoe sunset was spectacular!

Here’s the lively family, both sides.

Daryl Crawford opened with a sincere and humorous Navajo Blessing for us. We couldn’t have been happier!

The kids helped assure that we were on our best behavior!

    • Hey Wes! Thanks. It took me some time to get back to life, both before and after the wedding. I’m sooo happy that you came to the party. Thank you so much for your awesome support!! You are certainly a gem.
